Federico Zumel...

...I’ve always loved to draw, as I'm sure you can imagine. I've always drawn: from my earliest memories 'til the here-and-now. It's my first (and strongest) passion.
After high school, I entered college to study Graphic Design, but left school after only a year. Why? Honestly, designing is not drawing.

Despite never having an interest in comics when I was a kid, I came to have a genuine love for the medium when I became a teenager. That fascination was my first indication that my future lay in the comics' field.

After a too-short stint at University, I started a comics' course here in Argentina with a group of long-established professionals - hoping my hands-on opportunity serving under the tutelage of proven masters would serve me better. These professionals, who had worked for the major publishers in both the European and the US market, did not let me down.

After years of working locally and in-country, I eventually started getting my name in circulation in the US market. Most of this return-on-investment resulted from sending tons of emails, and, from there, building appropriate experience and industry contacts.

Thanks to talent, dedication, and the great professionals who are lucky enough to work in this profession and who have taken precious time to help me in my own goals, I can happily say that I’ve been working steadily for six years now. At 29, I have worked for many independent writers and creators, small publishers, and private concerns and I feel confident that I have reached my turning point. With this project, I can finally show the world what I’ve been working so hard on all of these years.

I have honed-my-skills at every available opportunity. I've worked hard at every opportunity afforded me. Some of my fortune is as follows: I’ve been published by BugHouse comics, Pickle Press, Penny Farthing Press and Upper Deck - as well as having a 72 page graphic novel under my belt called ´Unit Primes´.
My influences? Well, I've been influenced by everyone and everything around me. By life and everything in it. But my artistic influences are the old masters like Milton Caniff and Stan Drake...and the newer artists like Greg Capullo, Michael Turner and Alex Garner.

After years of professional experience, cored around a millennia-old apprenticeship system of hand-me-down knowledge and first-hand practicality, I have finally arrived in the position to show the world my hard-earned talent.
