Slickaway

Larry Schlekewy...

(a.k.a. 'Slickaway'; a.k.a. 'Slick')

...has been working as a professional graphic artist since his teens in rural North Carolina. Schlekewy’s work ranges all the way from the comics industry to vehicle wraps and apparel design/graphics, brochure and business card layout/design, to corporate identity and logo design; he has worked on comic books, trading cards, posters, illustration compendiums, album and book covers, and provided character designs for a variety of publishing companies. Schlekewy even briefly taught art at a private school immediately before his brief stint at Marvel Comics in 2000 where he inked Joe Bennett's artwork on the first three issues of the 'X-51: Machine Man' title.

Slickaway has also worked for Image Comics ( Parts Unknown), London Night Studios (Razor, Stryke, Poizon, etc.), Lightning Comics, High Impact, Chaos, Sirius, and others.

He has worked as a plotter and writer, a sequential artist, a commercially-successful graphic artist, an inker, an art director, an editor, a colorist, background artist, designer, layout artist, business manager and independent marketing executive over the last 16 years.

His passion, however, has always been for comics.

AHollowMan, for instance, has been in the works since Slickaway was a young 13 years old.

There are nine more projects to follow over the years; they too have been in development for more than a decade.
